In medicine, there is no one right
treatment for everyone. My job as a physician is to get to know
my patients to the best of my ability in the brief amount of time
that I have to work with them, make an assessment of the problem
that they come in with, and then, with the help of the patient,
develop a treatment plan based on the problem, my experience and
knowledge, and the patient’s wishes, beliefs and resources.
I also believe that it is my duty to help to empower people to be
more independent, proactive and responsible regarding their own
health and health care.
